io Perry’s world feels like a collage. Important mementos and cool things and cats and instruments and music arranged artfully and inspired by life that started in Canada, raised by her artist father in a barn in Toronto.

Her free-spirited childhood was set to a Beatles soundtrack and fueled an early love for music and harmony. Wanderlust took her to Toronto, Montreal, New York, while her musical tastes broadened as much as her geography.

After settling in Los Angeles, io played in A&M Records’ Old Hickory, Project K, and Green and Yellow TV. She toured the world playing bass for cult favorite Tito and the Tarantula, and returned home, inspired to pick up the guitar and write her own music.

Her “seductively cold and sweetly sad” original songs caught the attention of Starburns Industry’s founder (and comedy legend) Dino Stamatopolous. After licensing several songs for Comedy Central’s Moral Oral, she became the composer for his next project, Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole.

Of composing, io says, “I love how collaborative it is. It allows me to step into somebody else’s world and help to build it.”

io’s 4th full length record is due to drop anywhere you stream music on October 31st 2024, full of jangly melodies where life’s most monumental moments - love, loss, and longing - are explored in her signature sweet whisper of a voice in the way that only someone who has lived a collage of experiences can deliver.
